“Music chose me. I vividly recall trying to sing like Louis Armstrong’s ‘Hello Dolly’ in our Brooklyn apartment. It came on the radio often. I knew I was small, but when I researched what year this version was on the charts, I was floored with the realization that I was two years old!”
And so, Joanna Connor’s musical odyssey began. The soundtrack of her childhood in her adopted hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts, was diverse and bounteous. The Blues were part of the lexicon. Joanna’s favorite record as a child was Taj Mahal’s “Take A Giant Step/ The Old Folks At Home”.
Seeing Buddy Guy perform at a local university at the age of 10 left a paramount impression. Playing saxophone, guitar and singing through her school years were her passions, and they eventually led to her performing professionally at age 17.
But her hunger to become a guitarist first and foremost and her desire to immerse herself in the Blues, propelled her to move to Chicago in 1984.
Joanna has a new album that has recently been released, "Best of Me."

Guitarist/Vocalist/Composer/Producer/Louisiana Music Hall of Famer, Albert King Lifetime Award Winner
He's played guitar for Michael Jackson and Mick Fleetwood on their tours and albums. Audiences from Monterey to Serbia have witnessed a level of guitar genius that brought them to their feet, roaring in approval.
Yet, Gregg Wright says he is hungry for more . . . "I've always wanted my band. I put every ounce of my soul and life experience into what I do, whether it's onstage or in the studio. When you do that, you connect with people on many levels because they can feel it."
Gregg Wright got his first guitar while attending junior high school in Wichita Falls, Texas. He began playing in bands in high school around the Washington, D.C. area, where his father, a career military man, was stationed. He began his professional career on the U.S. Southern circuit in the mid-1970s, playing years of one-nighters.
Opening shows for Blues legends Albert King, Freddie King, and many others, Wright learned the Blues game from the Masters. “I worked around greatness!” says Gregg. “Albert and Freddie encouraged me to keep pushing, and I learned a helluva lot from watching and listening to them!” Following the 1980s move to Los Angeles, Wright became a top session guitarist, winning awards, doing albums and tours with many of Pop music's elite.
Blues Matters magazine says of Wright's latest CD, "King of the Rockin’ Blues!"; "This album places Gregg Wright in the top echelons of the great blues guitarists!" Outstanding live performances have earned him critical raves and an international audience. Gregg Wright is rapidly becoming a Blues guitar star, consolidating his reputation as "King of the Rockin' Blues!"
